Leanora "Lea" Overturf has been practicing law since 2003, licensed in both Washington State and in Montana. Prior to joining Odegaard Injury Laywers in June 2020, Lea worked as a defense attorney in workers' compensation, working for the State of Montana for 13 years; first as an Assistant Attorney General with the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, then as a Claimant Attorney with Montana State Fund. In her tenure with the Montana State Fund, Lea dealt with workers' compensation claims directly with injured workers, employers, insurance adjusters, and attorneys on both sides. She earned a Certified Medicare Secondary Payer Professional (CMSP) designation in 2018, and is well versed in all aspects of Medicare guidelines and workers' compensation. Prior to her work with Montana State Fund, Lea worked at the Montana Department of Labor and Industry in the practice areas of: Workers' Compensation Regulation/Defense, Unemployment Insurance, Wage and Hour, and Human Rights/EEOC matters.
Lea is a Washington State native, but spent much of her youth growing up in Florida. Lea graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law in 2002 and then worked for a private law firm in Seattle, Washington doing workers' compensation defense. Prior to law school, Lea earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA, and worked in the mortgage industry, learning all aspects of residential lending and home appraisals.
Lea relocated to Helena Montana in 2007. In addition to her work history, Lea has actively worked in the Helena community as a volunteer with abused and neglected children and earned her Certified Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian Ad Litem designation in 2014.
Lea is very excited to join Odegaard Injury Laywers, and serve injured workers throughout Montana. When Lea is not working or volunteering, she enjoys spending time with her husband Greg (also an attorney with the firm), their combined four beautiful children (2 teenagers & 2 adults), and all of their fur babies (3 dogs and 2 cats); which keeps them busy.
