Biography

Dan Olinger is an associate at Odegaard Injury Lawyers in the Billings office. Although Dan's family is originally from Northern Minnesota, he spent the majority of his life braving the wind and weather of North Central Montana.

Dan filled his childhood playing sports with his best buddies and hunting and fishing with his dad. He graduated from Charles M. Russell High School in 2009. After high school, Dan accepted a scholarship to play baseball at the University of Minnesota where he was a four-year starter and earned Academic All-Big 10 accolades each year. He graduated with a dual degree in marketing and entrepreneurial management from the U of M's Carlson School of Management.

After his undergraduate studies, Dan was eager to return home to Montana. After a few years of working odd jobs, Dan made the decision to continue his education and pursue a law degree at the University of Montana School of Law. During his time in Missoula, he worked in the Veterans Advocacy Clinic, assisting military veterans in need of legal services for VA claims and appeals or DoD discharge upgrades. During his summers, Dan returned home to Great Falls where he was a law clerk for two well established civil litigation firms, Church, Harris, Johnson & Williams, P.C. and Davis, Hatley, Haffeman & Tighe, P.C.. Prior to graduation, he was selected by his peers to be the law class of 2020 class speaker.

After graduation, Dan accepted a position at a law firm in Great Falls, primarily working on personal injury and criminal defense cases. After meeting his wife, Tayler, Dan moved to Billings to work as an attorney at civil defense litigation firm where he gained valuable experience in the fields of insurance coverage and personal injury litigation. Dan made the decision in 2022 to join Odegaard Injury Lawyers, where the focus of his practice would be helping Montanan's who have been injured or hurt navigate the legal system.

Dan is licensed to practice law in the state of Montana and holds memberships in the Yellowstone Area Bar Association, American Bar Association, And Montana Trial lawyers Association. In his free time, Dan enjoys hunting and fishing with his yellow lab, Gordie, and helping out at his wife Tayler's family cattle ranch.
